Leave Of Absences

Will my job be protected while I’m on a leave of absence?
Under FMLA and if qualified, your job will be protected while you are on leave.
This can vary depending on your condition, treatment and documentation provided. At Heal Before Work, leave of absences are done in 3 month increments.
If your employer denies your leave, we ask that you follow up with your HR team to determine why your leave is being denied for further consideration by the doctor.

EDD/SDI

With HBWPCI, we do what is called a “piggyback”. We will hop onto your current/existing claim and continue to certify it.
If you are currently claiming UI, we recommend that you cancel your claim immediately and start your SDI claim asap.
After filing your claim, EDD will send you what is called a “Notice of Computation”. This notice is a breakdown of what you will be receiving from EDD. It will be broken down daily, weekly, monthly and annually.
EDD will pay you every 14 days, as long as you are regularly attending your sessions.
If you have not received a payment from EDD, you will need to contact EDD to inquire about the payment. EDD payment help number: 866-333-4606
If you are having difficulty reaching EDD, you may also locate an EDD office near you utilizing our EDD office locator
Clients can claim SDI for up to a year if they have paid into it.
